        MUAYTHAI

        MUAY THAI is well known around the world as a combat sport that also has a number of benefits for health and self-defence. It's fantastic for increasing agility, speed, cardiovascular endurance and muscular strength, but also helps to build character and personality, as well as decrease stress.

        The Gym:

        At South Side Muay Thai Gym, we offer a range of training options: from increasing health and fitness, to improving martial arts techniques for beginners, all the way up to advanced skills for professional fighters. The training programmes vary depending on the customer's level of experience and ability, and our trainers will pay close attention to every customer. Each of our classes is limited to 10 people, and is overseen by one trainer to ensure that every student receives adequate support.

        Training Section Outline

        Training Guideline (It is up to your skills)

        1. First 15 mins -- Wrapping hands and warm up by, running, skipping, stretching and then exercises (sit ups, planks and legs raises)
        2. Short break
        3. Shadow Boxing - combinations in the mirror (punches, kicks, knees and elbows) approximately 15 mins
        4. Short break
        5. Combinations on punching and kicking bags approximately 15 mins
        6. Short break
        7. One-on-one pad-work with trainer approximately 15-20 mins
        8. Cool down with stretching and conditioning approximately 10 mins

        "Excellent"

        This is an excellent Muay Thai club. The level of coaching and instruction is top notch, yet it has none of the attitude that other clubs have with half of the coaching experience as South Side. Mikey, Raul and Bruce live Muay Thai, and you can see their passion in how they teach, how they present themselves, and the bonds they make with other gyms, and in the community. True inspiration and leadership.

        Definitely the best gym in the art. Commendable staff, really friendly members. The gym fosters great values and is very respectable. I would highly recommend to anyone interested in Muay Thai or even just to get in the best shape of your life.

        This gym is by far the best one I have attended. The trainers are friendly, and very patient with everyone so it makes the experience a whole lot less intimidating. Incorporating womans classes is the best thing they could do, as it accommodates all levels of fitness for woman. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone whos interested in getting into muai thai or just for health and fitness.

        By far the best Muay Thai gym in the city. Great environment for people at all levels (beginners - competitors). The team there helps you with a unique training plan for you to help you develop in the areas you need.         Southside is the best gym around town because of how friendly and talented our staff and instructors are. From day 1 they make you feel like you are a part of the team and with that mentality you can go anywhere because they will always have your back.         Intermediate multi-disciplinary fighter who is thoroughly impressed with the atmosphere, coaching and accolades of the gym. A true testament of a gyms merit is their quality of active competitors, something which South Side has no shortage of. Just signed up for the full year taking advantage of their January promotion and would highly recommend anyone who's been interested or on the fence to do the same. I look forward to developing under their many coaches' advisement and will hope to compete numerous times this year. And will be very confident after training here as well.

        Amazing place to learn Muay Thai. They focus on only Muay Thai here which makes a huge impact in the quality of training and the development of the curriculum.The classes are a really good size and the instructors get to know each individual student. As a beginner this is extremely valuable because I feel like they are committed to my development. The students at the school are dedicated, knowledgeable and always willing to help out. Would definitely recommend this school for anyone at any level.

        Absolutely love Southside MT. I had been working out regularly for years and slowly lost my passion for fitness last year. Two months ago I was inspired to get back into fitness and was looking to try something new to try since I had lost my love for lifting weights, I decided that I wanted to try out Muay Thai and was told by numerous people that Southside was the place to checkout. After just 2 classes I knew that I wanted to sign up with SS and have been going regularly (about 5-6 times a week) since then. When I first signed up, I was nervous to go to class alone, but quickly realized that even though everyone is at different levels, everyone at SS is more than willing to teach/help one another. Thank you Southside for helping me find my love for fitness again!
